Louis Lara-Macias, 17, also received a 21-year prison sentence, which the judge said would be suspended upon completion of a youth-offender program. Arapahoe District Judge Andrew Baum's sentence as part of a plea agreement that saw the teen plead guilty in the death of 33-year-old Nicholas Lewis.

Just before 5:30 p.m., Denver Police were called about gunshots in the 2700 block of W. Evans. Law enforcement says that thanks to a tipster, they were able to find the vehicle involved.

    KUSA - Four people were taken into custody after a report of shots fired and a brief police pursuit Friday evening in Denver, authorities say. Englewood teen sentenced in chef's murder

Court documents state Englewood police responded to a call of shots fired back in Oct. 1, 2016 in the area of South Acoma Street and West Cornell Avenue.

    Lara-Macias received the sentence as part of a plea agreement that saw the teenager plead guilty to second-degree murder on Oct. 19, 2017 for the death of Nick Lewis, chef of the Blackbird Public House. All other charges against Lara-Macias were dropped, the spokesperson said.

Teen sentenced for chef's murder

 According to a release from the District Attorney's Office for the 18th Judicial District, 33-year-old Nicholas Lewis was shot three times in the 3000 block of South Acoma St in October 2016. He was later pronounced dead at a hospital.

    CENTENNIAL - An Englewood teenager who pleaded guilty to killing a Denver chef has been given a 21-year suspended prison sentence, which he will not have to serve if he completes seven years in the Department of Corrections' youth offender system. Seventeen-year-old Louis Lara-Macias was sentenced Thursday as part of a plea agreement.

Teen sentenced to youth corrections for murder of Denver chef

Englewood police, responding to reports of shots fired, found Lewis on his back in the 3000 block of South Acoma Street. Lewis was shot three times in the chest. He was pronounced dead at Swedish Medical Center.

    An Englewood teenager was sentenced Thursday to seven years in the Department of Corrections' youth offender system for the shooting death of a Denver chef. Louis Lara-Macias, 17, was sentenced by Arapahoe District Judge Andrew Baum as part of a plea agreement, according to a district attorney's news release.
