Heavy sentence for Joshua Gonzales in toddler injury case

 On September 14, 2017 first responders were called to the area of W. Harvard and S. Tennyson where Melissa Mangeri (DOB: 9-14-89) sat in the grass holding her daughter who was unresponsive and who had suffered life-threatening injuries.

    A Jefferson County jury deliberated just three hours before returning a guilty verdict in the case against Joshua James Gonzales, DOB: 10-24-95, for abuse of his girlfriend's two-year-old daughter. The jury found Gonzales guilty of Child Abuse resulting in Serious Bodily Injury (F3).

Lakewood Man Sentenced to 28 Years Prison Child Abuse Resulting in Death of Infant

On March 3, 2016 Lakewood police were called to 5353 W. 16th where they found Naomi Jones unresponsive.  She was transported to Denver Health Medical Center and then transferred to Childrens’ Hospital Colorado. She died on March 6.

    Josiah Lamarr Jones, DOB: 9-7-95, appeared in Jefferson County District Court on April 10 where he was sentenced to prison for 28 years for the death of his three-month-old daughter, Naomi Jones. Josiah Jones pled guilty to a class two felony, Child Abuse Resulting in Death on March 6, less than a week before his trial was set to begin.

Ed advocates target DeVos in Denver at ALEC meeting

Police on scene wouldn’t speculate as to the cause, but the degree of trauma visible on the victim strongly suggested an auto versus pedestrian hit and run, just after noon at the intersection of 33rd and Newton.
