Morean had an impressive senior year. In the fall, he helped Cherry Creek win the Class 5A football championship and then was named The Denver Post's 64th Gold Helmet Award winner. In the spring, he helped the Bruins win the state lacrosse title.

Colter is the best female runner in the state, but she may also be the best nationally, and is a finalist for the prestigious Gatorade National girls track and field athlete award, which will be announced in June. She was also the Gatorade Colorado girls cross country runner of the year for the 2011-2012 season.

During the 2014-15 school year, Cherry Creek schools combined to claim 12 state championships and boasted 18 individual/relay state titles. District athletes secured historic wins as collectives and as individuals. They came together from separate schools to secure the district's first ice hockey state championship since 1979.

On a day when it was too wet to play outside, the students at Red Hawk Ridge Elementary celebrated the grand opening of their new play area with a ribbon cutting ceremony in their gymnasium. The new area is a welcome resource for the school and community and was made possible in large part by the Parker Jordan Metropolitan District.
