Suspect in standoff hospitalized for injuries from shootout with police days earlier

The arrest came at the end of a standoff that lasted more than six hours in the 9300 block of East 19th Avenue in Aurora.

Police said the suspect was wanted in connection with firing shots at Denver police officers during a traffic stop in the area near South Raleigh Street and West Bayaud Avenue on Saturday night.

    AURORA, Colo. -- The suspect that caused an hours-long standoff in Aurora Tuesday night was still receiving treatment in the hospital Wednesday night. Police arrested a suspect late Tuesday night who they said was wanted for shooting at Denver police police hours several days earlier. Police had not released the name of the suspect yet.

Wanted man arrested after standoff in Aurora

The man was holed up inside a home in the 9300 block of E. 19th Avenue for nearly four hours Tuesday afternoon.

Suspect in custody after Aurora standoff

They received information that the man was holed up in an Aurora apartment building as of 3:30pm Tuesday. For about six hours, police from Aurora, Denver and several other agencies surrounded an apartment near 19th Ave. and Chester St.

The man was wanted for firing a gun at Denver Police, according Aurora PD. They later confirmed it was the suspect from a traffic stop near Stuart and Alameda on Saturday.

SWAT Situation Ends Peacefully With Baby Rescued

AURORA, Colo. (CBS4) – Aurora police set up a perimeter around a home near Montview Boulevard and Chester Street on Tuesday night. After more than three hours, police took the suspect into custody.

Police closed Montview Blvd. to 17th Avenue and Beeler Street to Chester St.
