We’re really digging some of the new angles we get to see of the DAM buildings as construction crews continue working on the North Building renovation project and excavate the area for a new welcome center. When completed, the welcome center will feature spaces for family fun, programs and events, and dining. Find more information and project updates at denverartmuseum.org/north

Looking at the murals starting at Speer Boulevard and moving down 14th toward Santa Fe Drive we see the work of local artists Jason Garcia and Stephen Kruse, followed by the third mural by Los Angeles-based artist Robert Moore.

There are Three New Murals at 14th and Speer and Here's Why
Murals and street art in Denver are popping up on new corners or alleys every week - showing the city that artistic talent does not need to rely on outdated structures of pricing or selling to gain exposure in the scene.

Jaime Molina was just voted Best Artist (Editors' Choice) in 5280 Magazine's 2018 Top of the Town issue. Visit the DAM to see his solo exhibition "Past the Tangled Present" on view through September 9! This interactive and immersive installation by Denver artist Jaime Molina was born of imagination and the joy of discovery. Step into a different world where the paintings on the wall flow into 3-D objects that Molina created for the space. Sit on boxes painted with faces and play in a garden of fabricated cacti. New exhibits at Michael Warren Contemporary and Mai Wyn Fine Art showcase artists who take inspiration from nature and share them in very different ways.

Review: Taking Inspiration From Nature at Michael Warren and Mai Wyn
Both Michael Warren Contemporary and Mai Wyn Fine Arts are showing works by artists inspired by nature. While none of these four artists attempts to render the landscape, all find inspiration in scenery, and then share that inspiration in very different ways.

Photographer David Maisel captures America’s weeping landscapes and starkly degraded industrial sites to produce works that are hypnotically beautiful abstractions. You can see his work currently on view in “New Territory: Photo Landscape Today” at the Denver Art Museum. Learn more about his work and process in this article by the Natural Resources Defense Council (NRDC): https://on.nrdc.org/2J0p4kN

A Bird's-Eye Perspective Can Find Beauty in the Planet's Dirtiest Places
Few people have ever seen photographer David Maisel at work. That's because he takes his pictures aboard an aircraft at dizzying altitudes above his subjects-America's weeping landscapes and starkly degraded industrial sites. "You're always in motion, and so you have this endless stream of possible images that you could be making," says the artist, who lives in Sausalito, California.

#whiskywednesday feat. Ardbeg Grooves. www.ardbeg.com states: "Here at Ardbeg, we’ve always been passionate about the benefits of an alternative lifestyle. We dig peat. But we also dig crofting, crocheting, Celtic crosses and campfires. And for this Limited Edition bottling, we’re rolling back the years to an Islay time gone by – back to village of Peat & Love. Produced using our grooviest casks ever, aromas of smoked spices combine with distant bonfires fading into a mellow haze of apple and smoked pear. Ardbeg Grooves – It’s just good vibes…and good whisky, man." Non chill-filtered at 46.0% ABV

Have you ever wondered what happens to all of the beautiful flower arrangements that are left over after special events at the Denver Art Museum? Starting three months ago in March of this year, the museum has partnered with - and will continue to donate to - Flowers With Intention, a local organization that re-purposes flower arrangements for hospitals and nursing homes. The DAM's volunteer services department has a special Flower Council that facilitates these donations. Pictured: Flowers With Intention co-founder Susan Keene, DAM volunteer Lydia Troxler, and DAM staff member Violet Mantell.
