    In 2018, I will be focusing my efforts on the following priorities to enhance and improve our district: Traffic Calming, Traffic Light Evaluation, and Speed Limit Reductions - Implementing traffic improvements and speed limit study findings in key residential areas. Pedestrian Safety - Improve intersection crosswalk markings to give greater visibility and protection for pedestrians at busy neighborhood intersections.

PRIVATE OFF-LEASH DOG ENCLOSURES The hearing will be held at the meeting of the Board of Public Health and Environment (BPHE) at 5:30 p.m. on Thursday, February 8, 2018 at the Permit Center/Elections Building, located at 200 W. 14th Avenue, Suite 200, 2nd Floor in the Grand Mesa Conference Room. Any change to the meeting location will be posted prior to the meeting on the BPHE website (www.denvergov.org/BPHE).

The Marade (a combo of march and parade) starts at E. Colfax Ave. at Columbine, south of City Park. Participants will march straight west along Colfax, ending three miles later at Civic Center Park’s Greek Theater.

    Civil Rights leader Martin Luther King Jr.'s legacy is commemorated in Denver with what has grown to be one of the largest MLK Day celebrations in the U.S. - even larger than that of Washington, D.C. Among the local events set to honor Dr. King is the annual Marade on Monday morning (held rain, snow or shine).

The Marade began at 10:45 a.m. Monday at the corner of Colfax Ave. and Columbine Street. The Marade continued west toward the State Capitol and ended with a rally at Civic Center Park.

    DENVER (CBS4) - Thousands filled the streets of Denver on Monday for the annual MLK Marade to honor the civil rights leader. One of the organizers told CBS4's Tori Mason that Martin Luther King Jr. was arrested, sprayed with water hoses and bitten by dogs to get his message out there, so dealing with icy streets and freezing temperatures seems small in comparison.

Conservation District are different than historic districts because they do not regulate demolition of historic structures and do not require design review of modifications.
