After years of booming development, Denver's slot home crackdown comes too late for some neighborhoods
Heather Noyes walks along the northern reaches of northwest Denver's Tennyson Street district and sizes up what has been built over the past decade, replacing house after house. She and other longtime residents repeatedly see this from the sidewalk: a bank of gas meters, a fire door and perhaps a storage closet window.

WeCAN MEMBER VOTE: Proposed updates to the WeCAN Bylaws

The WeCAN Board of Directors has been volunteering their time to get the West Colfax Association of Neighbors Bylaws updated. The core change to the bylaws is to be more inclusive by enabling online voting. We believe this will allow us to get more input and participation from our members when important issues come up in West Colfax. We realize that many residents and business owners are too busy to attend general meetings, but their input is nevertheless very important to us.  In addition, several other changes have been made such as revising our purpose, removing unneeded language, and further defining voting requirements.

Federal Blvd and West Colfax among the 6 streets. “When cities want to, there’s a lot they can do to make bus service faster and more reliable. One of those transit improvements involves tweaking traffic signals so bus riders spend less time stopped at red lights and get to their destinations faster. Denver Public Works and the Regional Transportation District are planning to do just that on six streets in the city.”

New tech. aims to speed public transit times

In the future, buses will get greens on more streets. Denver already has funding for Federal Boulevard and West Colfax Avenue.

Denver's Colfax Bus Gets Priority At Green Lights
Supporters say it speeds up buses, shortening travel time. It also improves reliability because it's more consistent, and it could save time and money for RTD if they use less buses or provide more service. On the flip side, it could cause some delays on side streets.
