‘Billboard man’ remembers Broncos’ last big losing streak

Rich "G-Man" Goins, who was a part time sportscaster on a Denver radio station at the time, became a national story when he lost a bet with a San Diego radio station and had to do his sportscast from on top of a billboard at West Colfax Avenue and Julian Street for one week.

'Billboard man' remembers Broncos' last big losing streak
DENVER -- After starting the season 3-1, the Broncos have lost five straight games and are coming close to a streak they hoped they'd never see again. In 1990 the Broncos had a six game losing streak and a local radio sportscaster lived on top of a billboard until they won another game.

Time for G-Man? Broncos on losing streak

Before they played the Chicago Bears at Mile High Stadium on Nov. 18, the G-Man was up on a Fox billboard near the corner of West Colfax Avenue and Julian Street.

Time for G-Man? Broncos on another losing streak on 27-year anniversary of billboard live-in
KUSA - There may be only one man who can end this Denver Broncos' losing streak. He's capable of living for weeks on a billboard 40 feet above ground with little more than a sleeping bag and a safety harness. He is willing to contract bronchitis and pneumonia - Bronco-itis!

Nikki Braziel shared a Page to Sloan's Lake N...

Hi, Sloan's Lake! I wanted to drop a note and make sure you are all familiar with the Denver Citizen Oversight Board (COB). The COB practices civilian oversight—an ever-evolving field designed to provide communities with a voice in how law enforcement is conducted. We were voted into the City Charter last year, no doubt with much of your help. Under the Charter, the COB is authorized to make policy recommendations to the Denver Police Department and Denver Sheriff Department. We just launched a Facebook page, because we're hoping to hear more from the community. We hope you'll follow it and share your thoughts on policing, incarceration, and oversight in Denver. We welcome your voices at our bi-weekly board meetings and our quarterly public forums!

I-70 Storm Water Diversion in Denver, A Part of a More Comprehensive Plan?...Or D.I.A. Revisited?
The same week that the city of Denver agreed to a $4.6 million settlement for a "wrongful death" suit in the killing of Michael Marshall in the custody of the Denver Sheriff's Department, the city's mayor, Michael Hancock has also gotten into "the business" of destroying trees.

Fall 2017 West Colfax Clean-Up Day

October 7th was a beautiful fall day in Colorado, which also represented a wonderful opportunity for neighbors and volunteers to gather together for a clean-up day in the West Colfax neighborhood, through Extreme Community Makeover. 90 volunteers from Bethlehem Lutheran Church, Cuningham Group, God’s Grace Community Church, Harvest Bible Chapel, Human Services Education Organization, and WeCAN worked together to complete 1 yard clean-up project, 2 community garden clean-up projects, while also cleaning 6 alleys in the neighborhood. Thank you to everyone who participated and made an impact in helping to get a few more projects finished before the winter!
