Alamo Drafthouse Sloans Lake and the Rodolfo ...

Alamo Drafthouse Sloans Lake and the Rodolfo "Corky" Gonzales Branch Library invite you to a special screening of "Dreamers," Saturday, July 7 at 11 a.m. This is a free event and all ages are welcome. The DACA recipients featured in the film will be there to answer questions after the screening. Please join us at the Alamo Drafthouse Sloans Lake location, 4255 W. Colfax Ave., to take part in this community event. And share your own story with us in the comments!

    Free Screening of "Dreamers"
Do you know a Dreamer? Are you one yourself? In 2012, President Obama created the Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals (DACA) program, allowing young undocumented immigrants (sometimes called Dreamers) to temporarily work and attend college without fear of deportation. In September 2017, President Trump announced that the program would be terminated, putting 780,000 people at risk.

WeCAN MEMBER VOTE: Proposed updates to the WeCAN Bylaws

The WeCAN Board of Directors has been volunteering their time to get the West Colfax Association of Neighbors Bylaws updated. The core change to the bylaws is to be more inclusive by enabling online voting. We believe this will allow us to get more input and participation from our members when important issues come up in West Colfax. We realize that many residents and business owners are too busy to attend general meetings, but their input is nevertheless very important to us.  In addition, several other changes have been made such as revising our purpose, removing unneeded language, and further defining voting requirements.
