A very thoughtful piece about a plan that could effect Colorado's taxpayers now and in the future.

Why doesn't the Winter Olympics exploratory committee comply with the Sunshine Law? - Colorado Freedom of Information Coalition
The city says the Denver Olympic and Paralympic Winter Games Exploratory Committee, formed by Mayor Michael Hancock, is not bound by the Colorado Open Meetings Law and, therefore, it can meet however it sees fit. But there is a solid legal argument that the state's open meetings law indeed does apply to the Winter Olympics exploratory committee.

Proposed mixed-use development garners mixed reviews from neighbors - BusinessDen
A Denver-based developer wants to build a mixed-use project topping out at 16 stories at the southeast corner of Sloan's Lake Park, but two neighborhood groups aren't on board with the plans. Zocalo Community Development plans to construct more than 300 residential units, about half of which would be designated as affordable housing, on the parking lot along Newton Street between 16th and 17th avenues.

Zocalo plans 16-story tower by Sloan’s Lake

The development at West 17th Avenue and Newton Street is still in its early stages despite being in the works for more than two years.

Zocalo plans 16-story condo tower by Sloan's Lake
Zocalo Community Development plans to build a luxury 16-story condo tower near the increasingly trendy Sloan's Lake Park. The energy-efficient and yet unnamed development, with a total of 515,400 square feet, would be built on a parking lot at the former Beth Israel Hospital. The development also would include an unusually large affordable workforce rental component.

Community groups aren't ready to support proposed development on 17th and Newton - Denverite
"It's just over the top, figuratively and literally." Developers from Zocalo Community Development have a long way to go if they want neighborhood support for the proposed 515,000-square-foot development that would take the place of the surface parking lot surrounding Sloan's Lake Medical Center.
