Volunteers Needed to Help Map Improvements along East Colfax Avenue! As part of the East Area Plan Steering Committee (East Colfax Avenue Neighborhood Planning Initiative) I am seeking 5 to 10 volunteers to walk two separate 2 block sections of East Colfax Avenue and give their feedback on strengths and weaknesses of street and building design, uses, and unique details in two upcoming walkable surveys using a Urban Quality Scorecard. The survey will help highlight which improvements, such as sidewalk widening, landscaping, outdoor patios, or new land uses, that have the potential to most effectively increase the overall quality of East Colfax Avenue. The survey should only take one to 1 - 1 1/2 hours of your time and your feedback will be critical future planning along East Colfax Avenue. The survey will be used as part of a neighborhood planning process to help inform the long-term vision and recommendations for important mixed-use destinations. The evaluation will help prioritize infrastructure investments and zoning changes to encourage walkability and economic vitality along East Colfax Avenue. In the attached images you can see what the survey looks like, along with additional information. 1st Survey: Saturday, January 13, 2018 at 2:00PM (East Colfax Avenue between Rosemary, Syracuse and Spruce Streets). 2nd Survey: Saturday, January 27th, 2018 at 2:00PM (East Colfax Avenue between Ulster, Uinta and Valentia Streets). To volunteer please email me at and let me know the date(s) you can help out with and how many people will be attending. EastColfaxNeighborhood@gmail.com Once teams are formed I will send out more details to team members. Tom Fesing East Area Planning Initiative EastColfaxNeighborhood@gmail.com 303-591-2886
