Denver officials, business leaders assess Brighton Boulevard project before opening

When Harold Hill opened his farm-machinery business at 3100 Brighton Blvd. in the late 1940s, the street was a dusty, industrial strip populated with warehouses, a foundry and little else.

It's gone from ramshackle to kid-friendly; dusty industrial roadway to lifeline of the city's thriving River North district.

Every Restaurant and Bar Opening and Closing This Week
Gypsy Q launched its party-bus-turned-barbecue-truck in a lot behind a warehouse at 3410 Brighton Boulevard this week. The spot is a little tricky to find, but chef/owner Nick Shankland just got permission to set up the truck inside the cavernous, empty warehouse, so not only is it easier to find, but it's shadier on sunny summer days.

It is with heavy hearts that we say goodbye to a culinary comrade, and an icon that has had a huge influence on us. Among other things he taught us to take risks, that hospitality is one if the most important and genuine things you can offer, and that not everyone has to play by the rules to create a great experience. Today we encourage everyone to try something new, break out of your comfort zone and take a moment to enjoy your life the world around you. Rest in peace, Chef. . #TheLobbyDenver @AnthonyBourdain

Gypsy Q Is Denver's Most Hidden Barbecue Joint

The exact location is 3410 Brighton Boulevard (behind the Urban Cyclist), but parking is easiest off Wynkoop Street, as long as you don't park below 35th, which turns into a private driveway for Mountain Cement Co. (look for the twin blue and white silos and you'll know you're in the right place).
