Four months after a fire forced The Cherry Cricket to close, staff returned to the restaurant to prepare for reopening.
As Sinead O’Connor so famously sang, it’s been 15 hours and 138 days since a fire took Cherry Cricket’s burger love away.
The greasy ones and the gourmet ones. The sentimental favorites and the splashy upstarts. The iconic shoo-ins and the controversial long shots.
In honor of Eater’s Burger Week, we asked Denver chefs a few questions about their ideal burger, where they go for their fix, and what they think should never show up on a burger. For their favorite burger, Denver chefs seemed to…
The day before Thanksgiving, the beloved and cultish Cherry Cricket, a burger and beer feel-good spot in Cherry Creek North had a fire that did enough damage to warrant the closure and a renovation.
The Cherry Cricket announced Tuesday that it will reopen at 11 a.m. on April 11. This comes after a fire back in November closed the iconic Cherry Creek area restaurant for months.

It is Taco's last day and it is with heavy hearts that we say farewell. Taco (Eric Borg) has been with the Fru Cru for 10+ years. His passion, knowledge and love for all we do at Fruition is unparalleled. A self taught beer geek, he took our tiny six (6 boring!!!) beer offerings and created a truly incredible, respected and dynamically curated beer list. He brings his enthusiasm and dedicated work ethic into our tiny restaurant every single day...but most of all he has brought us laughter and true friendship. We will miss him <3
Join us to celebrate our friend and fellow chef Paul C. Reilly, co-founder Aileen V. Reilly and the beast + bottle team as we commemorate beast + bottle's 5th Anniversary, this Friday March 16! Hope to see you there!
Congrats to all Colorado finalists!!! Alex Seidel in Denver for Best Chef: Southwest. The Little Nell in Aspen for Outstanding Wine Program, Frasca Food and Wine in Boulder for Outstanding Restaurant. #coloradoproud

School review Bromwell Elementary School (2500 E. 4th Ave.)
Bromwell Elementary School (2500 E. 4th Ave.) Comment
We have been at the school for four years. We have had 3 principals during that time, one being an interim principal. Principal Kohn was kind. She listened to students and took time to really address their concerns. Our current principal is a new administrator and it shows in his overall experience of how he handles different issues. There is a lot of potential for making Bromwell what it once was as a blue school. It has fallen in the past years to a green rated school. I believe this is because of transitioning leadership.
