Danger Zones - Driving in Colorado

Fatal crashes may have one cause or multiple contributing factors. The number of drivers in Colorado involved in deadly accidents while using alcohol or drugs has steadily increased in recent years. Even so, careless/inattentive driving is the leading contributing factor among drivers in fatal crashes.

Recognizing the growing problem of distracted driving, federal transportation researchers in 2012 started categorizing Careless/Inattentive Driving as a separate contributing factor. For more information and patterns over the last seven years check out the interactive map here: knowledgeinitiative.org/interactive-crash-map

Interactive Crash Map - Deadly Colorado Drivers
Have you ever wondered where the most drunk driving accidents occur in Colorado? How about the roads where you might be more likely to encounter dangerous distracted drivers? The map above makes it easy for you to see the Danger Zones in Colorado by tracking reports of fatal crashes related to alcohol, drugs and distracted driving.

Earlier this month, Art of Architecture displayed blueprints and miniature models from 16 architecture students who reimagined Access Gallery as a live-work space for artists with disabilities. Read the interview with Access Gallery founder Damon McLeese in 303 Magazine → http://bit.ly/2rI7Q8q

Denver Students Imagine a Live-Work Space for Artists With Disabilities
Within the artistic community, the conversation on everyone's mind is being able to live and work as an artist without being a 'starving' one. Live-work spaces are fundamental to the healthy functioning of a creative culture and Denver has been lacking in that department, even though the art and culture scene is blossoming in other ways.

A new exhibit in the District sparks much-needed dialogue on gentrification. Thank you to The Know by Denver Post Entertainment for highlighting this important show and for shedding light on displacement in arts communities in Denver.

Rinaldi: Spark Gallery's latest exhibition is a reunion - and a memorial - for Colorado's displaced galleries
Artists pushed out of studio and galleries by the gentrification of downtown Denver come together at Spark. Depending on your point of view, "The New Underground" at the Spark Gallery is either a family reunion or a memorial service for the galleries and studio spaces that have been pushed out of the urban core by Denver's recent, and frequently lamented, gentrification.
