Where to Watch the World Cup in Denver
As the FIFA World Cup pushes on throughout June and July, crowds of people look to make the most of how they celebrate. For most, sitting at home watching the matches will not cut it. However, finding the perfect spot to watch the storied tournament can be extremely challenging.

Navajo Street Partners is hosting a mid-year ...

Navajo Street Partners is hosting a mid-year week-long street clean up effort to beautify Sunnyside from June 25-29th. There will be garbage & recycling bags, gloves & vests housed at the Quigg Newton Community Center (look for a sign at the front desk) along with a map so folks can write their names on the streets they will be cleaning. Anytime during that week is fine. Can you please post this to the community? We are a mighty but small force and we’d love to see some of the neighborhood residents participate. Many thanks, Maureen

SUNI hosts a variety of events to draw in members of different demographic groups, enjoys a strong relationship with our City Councilmember, and seeks to partner with other RNOs on various initiatives. Yet we are always looking for ways we can be stronger. Neighbor participation is always at the top of our list - connected neighbors = a strong neighborhood.

You asked: What makes some neighborhood organizations more effective than others? - Denverite
In addition to breaking news, we at Denverite love explaining how Denver works. One of the most effective ways to do that is to answer readers' questions. We've been asking Denverite members to help us test a new feature - the rest of you will be seeing it in a few weeks!

Genesee, the town along I-70 as you drive up ...

Genesee, the town along I-70 as you drive up to the mountains, has a history hike, complete with audio snippets about interesting points along the way. It got me thinking about the stories neighbors could tell about Sunnyside... 🤔 Are there any interviewers out there that would be interested in heading up a project collecting neighborhood stories? https://www.geneseefoundation.org/history-hike/

    Audible History Hikes
Situated on the north-facing slopes of Genesee Mountain, the Genesee Park ski jumping area was the site of national ski jumping competitions from 1921 to 1927. As many as four jumps are reported to have been built on the mountain. The longest jump was reported to be 2,000 feet long with a vertical drop of 700 feet.
