Denver’s Busiest Parks to Get More Rest Several of Denver’s largest and most used parks will continue to get rest periods during the busiest times of year. The city’s Park Rest Period initiative protects parks and maintains a balance between recreational use and public events. In 2017, Denver’s Parks and Rec instituted a trial program wherein public event permits were restricted in the city’s six busiest parks. During rest periods a park cannot be permitted for a public event. The rest periods, occurring between April 1st and October 31st, ranged from two to four weekends per month, depending on the specific needs of the park.  Each year, the Denver Parks and Recreation Permit Office determines the exact rest dates after historical events are booked, but prior to the permit opening date in early November. These dates are published online with the Office of Special Events. If you have any concerns or comments please email Park.Permits@denvergov.org. On the subject of art, there are two incredible new public art installations in Denver you don't want to miss: Artist Shantell Martin created a sprawling and engaging 2,050-square-foot installation outside of Understudy - a new art space underneath the stairs of the Convention Center.

Denver Health Medical Center’s campus northwest of Sixth Avenue and Broadway will get a $155 million outpatient health building called the Outpatient Medical Center, shown in this rendering. Denver’s bond package includes $75 million for the project.

Ten projects show sweep of Denver's $937 million bond package, from transit and fresh pavement to botanic arts and new rec center
Denver's massive, $937 million bond package proved exceptionally popular with Denver voters last week. All seven components cleared two-thirds support among the nearly 143,000 voters who turned out, with the transportation package exceeding 75 percent. But when will the roughly 460 projects, from small repaving plans to big new buildings, get started?
